Think Therapy — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Think Therapy ("the Service"), a counselling/psychotherapy practice-management and directory web application. Think Therapy is a trading name of Coherence Technical Services Ltd ("we", "us"), registered in England and Wales, company number 15030198, 247 Charlton Road, London N9 8HH, United Kingdom. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Think Therapy provides tools for therapists and counselling practices to manage profiles, availability, appointments, rooms and clients; a public directory and profile pages; and online booking. It is practice-management software — it is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical, psychological or therapeutic advice. Any therapeutic relationship is solely between a practitioner and their client.
The Service also publishes general information to help people choose a practitioner — for example, what professional registrations to look for. That information is general guidance about choosing a therapist, not clinical advice about anyone's individual circumstances, and it does not replace professional judgment.
The Service is not an emergency or crisis service. It is for arranging ongoing therapy, and nobody monitors it for urgent need. If you need help now, contact the Samaritans free on 116 123, text SHOUT to 85258, or call NHS 111. In an emergency, call 999 or go to A&E.
2. Accounts and eligibility
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract.
- Practitioners are responsible for the accuracy of their profile, qualifications, fees and availability, and for holding any registrations or insurance their profession requires.
3. Practitioner and client responsibilities
- Practitioners are the data controllers for their clients' records and are responsible for lawful, ethical and professional handling of those records, including obtaining any necessary consents and meeting record-retention obligations. See the Privacy Policy.
- Clients are responsible for the accuracy of booking information they provide and for arranging care directly with the practitioner.
- Bookings made through the Service are requests to/agreements with the practitioner; we are not a party to the therapeutic engagement or its payment.
4. Subscriptions, fees and cancellation
Fees. Paid plans are charged at the price shown at the time you subscribe. We may change our prices, but we will give you reasonable notice before a change affects you, and a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Billing cycle. Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically at the start of each cycle until cancelled. Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not receive or store your full card details.
Cancelling. You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle — you keep access for the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again. At any point before that cycle ends you may reinstate the subscription and continue without interruption.
Cancelling a subscription is not the same as closing your account. You may cancel your subscription and keep your account, and you may close your account separately. How we handle your data on account closure is described in the Privacy Policy.
Refunds. We do not offer refunds for part-used billing periods. Because cancellation runs to the end of the cycle you have paid for, you always receive the period you were charged for.
Failed payments. If a payment fails we will attempt to take it again over a short period and notify you. If it remains unpaid, access to paid features may be suspended until the account is brought up to date.
Discounts and promotions. We may offer discounts, promotional rates and founding-member terms from time to time. Each is governed by the terms advertised with it at the time it is offered, including its duration and whether it survives renewal. Unless the advertised terms say otherwise, a discount applies only to the plan and period stated.
Your statutory rights. Nothing in this section removes or limits any rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: - use the Service unlawfully, or to store/transmit unlawful, infringing or harmful content; - attempt to access data or workspaces you are not authorised to access; - probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or disrupt the Service or its security; - misuse the public directory (e.g. bulk harvesting of practitioner data); or - impersonate others or misrepresent your qualifications.
6. Google sign-in and Calendar
If you choose to sign in with Google or connect Google Calendar, you authorise the Service to access the limited Google data described in the Privacy Policy. Our use of Google user data complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. You may disconnect or revoke this access at any time.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, its software and its branding are owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of the content and data you submit, and you grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display it to operate the Service (for example, showing your published profile in the directory).
8. Availability, changes and beta features
We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and the Service may include features still under development. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes where practical.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, including fitness for a particular purpose and that listings or availability are error-free. We do not vet the clinical competence of practitioners listed in the directory; appearance in the directory is not an endorsement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, data or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud).
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer rights you have in your place of residence.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email, and continued use after they take effect constitutes acceptance.
